| Mae West was a dream come true. She came from a litter of tremendous depth of quality. Three of the puppies were in the top 10 in breed points in the same year! To my knowledge, this is a first. Mae started her show career by winning Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at the Ohio Regional Specialty under Breeder Judge Ms. Gayle Garvin for a 5 point major, she was also Winners Bitch the following day under All Breed Judge, Ms. Neena L. VanCamp for another 5 point major and finished her championship by going Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at the 1999 National Specialty in Ft. Worth, TX under Breeder Judge Mr. Robert Caldwell. In 2001 she won Best of Breed at the largest National Specialty to date under all breed judge Mr. Gerald Schwartz. |
| She was the # 1 Cardigan that year in breed points in the United States. In 2002 she earned her retirement by winning four consecutive Group 1's and a Best In Show under All Breed Judge Mrs. Polly Smith. Mae was aptly loved and handled by Mr. Mel Holloman throughout her illustrious career. |
